Papier-mâché collage - Inspiration. Action. Change.

Art is capable of catalyzing critical thinking and inspiring individuals to work together. At the 10th Annual Suicide Prevention Conference: Inspiration. Action.Change., participants created a small piece of art following each speaker. These individual pieces were assembled to form a collective work. Community
art is by its nature dialectical. It is an expression of both individual and group identity where individuals become part of a larger whole.

Suicide is most often the result of pain, hopelessness and despair. It is almost always preventable through caring, compassion, commitment and community.

This artwork illustrates the hopefulness and commitment to take action to prevent suicides in Hamilton.

The Papier-mâché collage - Inspiration. Action. Change. will be on tour throughout Hamilton. Dates and locations will be announced soon.
